A few millennium ago Christ appeared before the Roman Governor Pilate and spoke these words. “To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” (John 18:37).
To this Pilate asked of Christ – “What is truth?” Apparently Pilate did not wait for a response from the Master that day but he instead turned away. Our hope is to present people with the truth and that they will desire it. Many have been kept from the truth in that they have not been able to have it presented to them. You can introduce people to the truth and set them on their journey to know for themselves.
There are false Christs confusing the true doctrine of God. The truth has been made known line upon line and precept upon precept and mankind can now combat and conquer heresy because of direct revelation from God to prophets in our day. In the spirit of friendship we invite all to carefully consider and see if they can see eye to eye with us. “Come now, and let us reason together…” (Isaiah 1:18)
Here are a few of the misconceptions people are laboring under. These are heretical beliefs that people have today that are deadly to their salvation. Each of these teachings crept in as part of the apostasy (falling away from the true doctrine) that happened once the apostles appointed by Christ were gone. These misconceptions are preventing people from realizing the full power of faith unto Salvation.
1. The Trinity as found in the Nicene and other Creeds. 2. God is a spirit essence as found in the Nicene and other Creeds. 3. Revelation has ceased, God no longer speaks to man. The scriptural canon is closed and not to be added to. 4. Works are not necessary, only Faith and being born again are necessary. Electionism, predestination and limited atonement. 5. Authority comes to a person as they feel the call from within to be a minister. There was unbroken apostolic succession from Peter to our day. 6. Our time is different and the love of God requires compromise and adoption of a new morality to include everyone. 7. Baptism is not necessary.
The gospel in its fullest sense encompasses all the truths that God has given to us to understand on the earth. Be advised that it is done line upon line, a little here and a little there and is achieved by degrees over a lifetime. A new investigator will be drinking milk before they get to meat. You must however be fully conversant in the truths of the gospel.
“Every member of the Church should be converted and have a knowledge of the gospel, including a knowledge of the scriptures…A man must know what he teaches before he can effectively teach it to others! (President David O. Mckay, Conference Report, October 1969, General Priesthood Meeting, p.88)
The following are just a few of the simple truths you have to offer on the subject of the Godhead. We don’t think twice about them, but they are not accepted today even among the general Christian population.
1. There are three separate and distinct persons in the Godhead. Separate in personality and physical being – God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Ghost. 2. These three personages constitute the Godhead of our Universe and they rule in perfect harmony one with another. They are united in purpose. Christ during his earthly ministry did nothing but what was dictated by the will of his Father. 3. The Father and Son both have physical bodies that can be seen and felt. Physical yet perfected beyond any glory that we can imagine. 4. We are all children of God the father and that is why we address Him as such. He is the father of our spirits and the one to whom we will return to after we die.
This knowledge is what Christ and his apostles originally taught. This knowledge was intentionally covered up and lost. The correct understanding of the Godhead must have been known in the past because God would not otherwise have left mankind floundering in the dark and unable to exercise true faith in Him.
Once again the light of truth is shown openly upon the earth for all to see. The falsehoods perpetrated by Satan flee from the light of this great doctrine. Let us each share these profound truths concerning the Godhead that others may exercise correct faith in God and in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
